@filmfreak75 @autistics

When I went to a support group for autistic people/ people awaiting diagnosis, two experts by lived experience commented that after their diagnosis they were pretty much directed to go read up about autism.

In hindsight, I think that helped me get less bothered about diagnosis.

@misaimed_brain my therapist had me do a group and some reading and i've been seeing him once a month and that has been good enough @autistics

Once I was sure myself this is one reason I haven't gone through the terrible process. Another is that I don't trust that a diagnosis won't be used against me at some point.

Of course I did all the reading first anyway 🤣

@autistics

@doggle my assessment was not bad at all but i have a really good therapist

plus without a formal formal diagnosis, i’d never have been able
to get my accommodations at work

it suck’s it’s a minefield no matter what we do
