@kagihq On one hand, I agree with the post. On the other hand, I dislike that it is a brand speaking at all.

I admit that change, beyond table-flipping moonshots, will need some degree of commercial feasibility. At the same time, I do not wish to be a party to small-web washing.

Yet still using Google search in the end 😅 May not give them direct money, but data. Which is worth a lot more. Also you're missing features from Kagi search like site ranking (or blocking), AI blocking (yes indeed) and lenses, for instance.
I understand your point but you have to choose the lesser of two evils I guess.
I choose Kagi at the moment, as my prior goto search engine Startpage has less features and is also using Google and serving ads on top. 🤷

there's a big difference between "you're giving them your data by using it" (spoiler alert: you're giving them data if you use pretty much anything - via analytics, youtube etc) and directly financially supporting techbros larping as small web. The latter I'd compare more to paying for youtube premium

AI blocking (yes indeed)ever heard of uBlacklist?but you have to choose the lesser of two evils I guess.Is it the less of 2 evils? They literally work with yandex and brave, their CEO harasses people who criticise it and so on.

This is what you're supporting. Google is so big it won't even notice you using or not using it, here tho you're directly financing this. But you do you.
