Does anyone get onboarded well in a new job?
@LoganFive nope.. Even the best company I worked for (Hubspot) we were flown to Boston and had 1 talk all week (lots of great food though)
@LoganFive I've been waterboarded better at old jobs. Ok, not really.
@LoganFive
Nah, that's just a dream I had.
@LoganFive As it has always been, I suspect that most still just throw you in.. Setup and training by terror method.

@LoganFive
The "HR" person at my last job used alot of "bla bla blas" in the first day of orientation and didnt give me a location or remote link for day two and didnt respond to calls texts emails or Slacks so I didnt even go to day 2. In an all staff the following week she was given a standing ovation with "Great job on completing your first orientation! Stunning job!" I was stunned...

Of course, this is the non-profit that took retirement funds from my and others' paychecks for 6 months and didnt actually invest the funds at the same time they missed payroll twice ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
Did I report them? No. Who would I report them to? (i know who I would've reported them to when we had a functioning government so no need to offer that info up.)

@LoganFive

The word "onboarding" is already a bad sign.

@anarchademic I think it sounds like weโ€™re getting on a ship headed out to sea. I just wish they actually stopped at the dock instead of just floating by.

@LoganFive you mesn like properly strapped down?

I think that depends on the doctor.

@LoganFive not since 2003. the process has gotten progressively worse at every subsequent stop. professional HR just doesn't exist any longer, and yes, places like AT&T had absolutely terrific first day/first week experiences.
