The prophecy has been fulfilled 🙏

@hannah hahahaha I wonder if this is the final gas station you get to before the rental car return at LAX

there's always one like this at every airport and it's usually Chevron with their stupid high prices

@vxo the last time i rented a car i think they threatened to charge $9.99/gal as a penalty if you didnt bring it back full.. that’s about to sound like a bargain
@hannah $8/gallon is £1.58/litre if you've following along at home (in the UK).
@chiffchaff @hannah Finland is at ~2€/litre which is about $8.5/gallon last I checked online. Welcome to the >$8 club to those who celebrate in the US. 😁
@jago @chiffchaff @hannah Italy was the same before the government reduced it with an emergency policy (paying for it basically).
@chiffchaff @hannah Wait... Is gasoline cheaper in Spain than in the US?

@kAlvaro @hannah I think this must be a super-special "gas station" in the US, but I was surprised petrol was similar there to the UK.

(Fwiw, source for calculation Wolfram Alpha).

@chiffchaff @hannah
That's close to the £1.72 per litre I saw today when I cycled (😉) past a petrol station in Crawley.
@hannah And those are 80s dollars too, that's like $30 now.
@hannah "thanks bill watterson" we all say in unison

@hannah

$US 8.31/gal is $Can 3.02/L. That's spicy.

Regular gasoline locally is $CAN 1.73/L or $US 4.76
