With the new expansion coming and an alleged re-work of existing jobs on the horizon (after the extremely successful start to the rework of combat encounters in Dawntrail that produced some of the best fights in the history of the game) I'm expecting big changes in 8.0, in addition to 1-2 completely new jobs.

But what will those changes be? No idea. What do I *want*? Well, that's a thread.

First, we need a new physical ranged DPS. There are six melee and four of each other job category, but only three ranged.

I have very little opinion here; whatever they do will be silly. I think "fun" choices would be chemist (throw bombs and potions) or some kind of red mage-style hybrid melee/ranged swashbuckler type - the thing I thought we were getting instead of Viper.

For tank (the likely second job, if we get one) I'm all-in on Valkyrie - buckler and shortspear; high mobility; perhaps more directional than the other tanks.

If we are going north towards Aerslaent and the Blindfrost (they've said we aren't going to Meracydia for a while, so if we stay on the Source it's that or Corvos) it makes extra sense; perhaps less so if we delve deeper into the Mist Continent.
