Anon OpinWhen the UK handed its imperial status over to the US, after WWII, we took up quizzing and panel shows. I hope the US does something similarly benign when it passes on the imperial baton to the empire that rises next.
DressToKILT@anon_opin the UK simply shrunk its empire back to its home islands (and the Falklands) and half the world still nonds along politely to the current monarch. The US doesn't have any such luxury. We're not passing the imperial baton to anyone. Someone might come along and pick it out of the ashes we reduce ourselves to.
