Congratulation to the left wing parties of Denmark! 🇩🇰

With 99 percent of the votes counted, the left is in a far stronger position to form a government than the right.

1. They have 84 seats VS 77.
2. They are fewer parties who need to agree (5 VS 6).
3. 58 or their seats belong to just two parties (S and SF).

Now the negotiations begin, and anything is possible. But right now, the results look like a left wing future for Denmark, with a focus on the environment, the climate, and education.

@randahl is that the same left wing that did the whole we're green but we're anti-immigrants? Since that gave DK one of the worst anti-immigration laws. Or is it actually left wing?

@SolarDavy The Social Democrats is a center left party which now combines left leaning politics with right leaning immigration politics.

The other parties on the left are much more moderate and will most likely temper the Social Democrats somewhat during the negotiations.

@randahl ah thanks for clarifying!

It's just that when other people write about victories in NL against the far-right extremist by parties like VVD (Rutte fame). They often forget to mention how right leaning those winners are, and that they tend to just package their racism in a more palpable format.

So I'm truly happy to hear that DK is making a turn left. It's one of my favorite countries to visit, but the racism was always off-putting.
