@uep @futzle yes. A number of futures speak of “half lane cars”. One of stephenson’s novels features them. One of heinlein’s post-apocalyptic novels talks of rare “authorized power vehicles” (everyone else uses animal-drawn vehicles, or catches trains). So in my future, Ford Rangers are “double lane” cars and their use is strictly limited to those with demonstrable need-to-haul.
