Me, throwing caution to the wind in publicly leaving a reader's comment to NYT article:

"As a transgender woman, I despair with how Edsall and others platformed by the Times frame politics around trans rights. We're told that Democrats should "moderate" their positions, without being told what that would mean in practice. Keep in mind that more and more state legislators are passing extreme anti-trans measures, essentially pushing trans people out of public life. 1/2
