@FathomPublishing The trip to Kenai has one of the only circular coils of track to raise the train up because there is no way to power up the hill even if there were tracks. You can watch out of the train car, watch a bore tide or see Narwhals. Watch puffin that get so fat they can't fly to feed their offspring till they loose enough weight as they skim across the water. That's on fun trip. No telling what other animals you will see.
@A_Minion Fascinating to know this. I've done the trip to and from Seward once, it is a great experience. Also took the train Anchorage to Whittier right after the 1964 Alaska earthquake. Rode in the caboose on the return trip!
@FathomPublishing My spouse remembers '64 only too well. My favorite roads are the Hill down into Seward (but we all know Seward) 8*) that & the road coming into Fairbanks before SD'sI on a motorcycle where you are at the top looking way down both sides with those long sweeping curves. 8*) Peace
