Quote from TOLOnews English (@TOLONewsEnglish):
American detainee in Afghanistan, Dennis Coyle, who was released today (Tuesday) by the Islamic Emirate, had his family request his release from the Islamic Emirate’s leadership in a letter.
A copy of the letter obtained by TOLOnews states: “Dennis, who has held a deep love for Afghanistan over the past twenty years, has tirelessly worked for the promotion and development of the Pashto language and other minority languages, in order to show respect to your country and appreciate its beauty and traditions.”
This comes as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced his release today in a statement.
He had been in the custody of the Islamic Emirate for more than a year.
