@arstechnica

We already know how to build space stations though. We’ve never built habitats on another world.

@bflipp @arstechnica Come on, we've built tons of houses!

@dy @arstechnica

We don’t even know if we can land on the moon successfully again.

Damn sure do not have any landers close to being able to test. We don’t even have a vehicle that can get people there and back yet and we’re already signing up for a much harder mission.

@bflipp @dy @arstechnica
That’s not even considering the nature of lunar dust. That stuff is pernicious, abrasive, and about as benign to astronauts as asbestos is to construction workers.

@millardjk @dy @arstechnica

Isn’t it binding in the lungs the same way asbestos is too? I seem to remember something about that.

@bflipp @dy @arstechnica Exactly, which is why I used that specific metaphor.

It’s probably closer to volcanic ash, but I think more people have familiarity with asbestos warnings as opposed to ash.

@arstechnica this is going to get someone killed

@arstechnica Lunar Gateway never made sense, so I'll take it.

As for the rest of this stuff ... we'll see.

@arstechnica Focusing on the water ?
