@zalasur @Fragglemuppet interesting. I love the taste of raw cauliflower.
I totally dislike it cooked (in water), but do like it roasted/pan-fried
And my lady, she went downtown
She bought some ber-ra-ccoli
She brought it ho-ome...
She's chop'in broccoli
@leoncowle @Fragglemuppet well, hold on to your hat, because I'm about to drop another bombshell: I like Brussels sprouts too. :-D
I've always liked most fruits and vegetables. The only two things I really didn't like as a child (and am still not crazy shout) were avos and spinach.
And I'm not a fan of East Asian food in general. And I don't like mielie pap.
@michaelvcooper1 Love those!
But broccoli and cauliflower tend to be thought of similarly, even though they're not really.
@Fragglemuppet Just had both
With leek, sprouts, peas, cheese sauce, bacon bits & extra cheese on top then grilled to brown the cheese off
Tastes better than it sounds
@Fragglemuppet it's a 'throw what veg you have, in the pot, steam it, cover it with cheese sauce, cheese & bacon bits' type recipe, no fixed amounts or set ingredients
I tend to avoid root veg for it tho, might work, you never know
@Fragglemuppet I have a problem with turnip, I can't keep it down
I used to like it mashed with carrots & butter when I was little but became intolerant as I grew older
@uxMark @Fragglemuppet I don't like broc on pizza, but I'm happy you do.
They're my favourite since childhood because they look like little trees.
In my experience, if you grow cauliflower in a warm location, it tends to look a lot like broccoli.
Broccoli and cauliflower were only developed in the last 500 years or so.
Kale, kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts are all cultivars of wild mustard.
@Fragglemuppet cauliflower and broccolini, although brussels might just be the best ...
roasting is the way for all of these.
