Cleaning up some files. This ad on an old bit of newspaper found in our attic in last house.

I'm tempted to swing by and see if they'll still honour the offer:

Oh sure, rather than honour their 55 cent Sunday dinner, they've pulled down the whole hotel and run away.

Bait and switch!

Another bit of the newspaper fragment seems to be describing damage as bombs fall on central London during the Blitz.

So seems to be 1940-41 range.

@ottaross My mother and her two little brothers were evacuated from London during the war. One of them later moved to B.C.

@lopta What a dramatic time that was. Sadly lots of echos of that in the modern news.

@ottaross Too many echoes sadly. As the generation who lived through it die off, there's a danger their lessons are lost with them.
