In quilting land I've finished all the centre bits with the zigzag and am now trimming them to size, cutting off millimetres of excess.
This isn't a necessary step if you simply maths and precision hard enough that you end up with exactly the right size blocks... But that's pretty unlikely and trimming instead makes them all exactly uniform and also gets rid of little bits of thread etc.

It's very satisfying but I have at an estimate at least 100 of these to trim, and my rotary cutter blade is a bit dull so it's not the most trivial task.
Quietly but with feeling: square

While the plumbing rituals continue in the bathroom, I've been pairing up the border pieces of the blocks to the centre diamond thingies. Mostly on a sort of "yeah that'll do" basis, and yet. And yet! I've run out of pairings that I deem acceptable and am going to have to buy a small quantity of fabric more. 😅 Plenty to finish in the meantime, but ah heck.

I'm missing about 44 bordering bits.

Each border takes two squares of 10cm x 10cm (which are then cut into triangles to apply) and the fabrics are all 110cm wide.
From this we could discern that I'm going to need to buy about a MATHS amount of fabric at the minimum!

@sinituulia Looks like you will need 88 squares, 10 cm x 10 cm. You will need about 80 cm of the 110 cm-wide fabric. Get 1 metre just to be safe. Or 0.5 metre each of 2 coordinating fabrics, if you want more variety.

You should be able to get 11 squares 10 cm from each 10 cm strip of 110 cm fabric. If you cut everything well.

Does this help you?
