David Bridger#FediTip #FediHelp I don't know any languages apart from my native English, but I follow and enjoy reading several Germans whose posts I used to see here with a "translate to English" link below. I don't see that link anywhere nowadays. Don't know if it happened when I changed instance from m/social to writing.exchange. Don't think so, but I mention that in case it makes sense to anyone who knows more than I do about this stuff. So, please can anyone help me get those links back? Thanks.
Helen in Wales@DavidBridger I think it's a thing that varies from instance to instance. I'm on toot.wales and never see a translate button under posts.
You can either copy and paste the text into Google Translate or (and I've just tried it), it you're reading on a computer or tablet and you have a smartphone with the Google Translate app, it will translate the text using the camera.
