Yes, Ma'am!
@ashleyyrain biggest lie capitalism sells you : "you cant buy happyness"
the second lie it tells you is that said hapiness should come at a cost
@Phracker2Art @ashleyyrain to be fair here my impression from looking at the likes of the elon musks or bill gates of the world .. is that they aren't actually very happy .. i this meant more like basic necessities being met, but also things meant as entertainment, like music, movies, games, etc; or otherwise to be enjoyable are also offered at a fee- so bleh, its nuanced xS
.. i would say that money gives you societal power, and lets you have control over others; and like status, and thats probably what most of the elite is actually after ..
@ashleyyrain you see we 'cant afford it' but we obviously can afford to send cops to brutalize people, and we can spend heaps on blowing people up overseas, and even more on tracking their every location and communications of everyone online, and ....
gods can we abolish the state already ffs
@Phracker2Art @ashleyyrain tbh taxation is theft, in some sense anyawy; and i dont like taxes (i mean fuck capitalism, fuck money in general, fuck paying a subscription to exist and to not have violence committed against you ?) but .. id also rather we steal from the rich and give to the poor, than steal from the poor give to the rich, to murder the poor; i also would rather not have 'money' at all, or at the very least not "super rich" so yknow, in context that makes a bit more sense
but yeah it is as you say .. most who say that though are completely fine with all of that shit, specifically want to still have a state and this time it only hurts people, and you still have to pay a subscription to exist, you just pay it only to corporate overloads, instead of state overlords; and well fuck that :)
@ashleyyrain this. Diagnosis acts to re-situate the problem away from the societal factors that cause it and onto the person who suffers from it, putting the onus on them to deal with. And usually, pressuring the person to change themself to fit the system, rather than changing the system to fit them.
This tends to happen whether or not diagnosis is well-intended. And whether this is formal medicalised diagnosis, or any other system of attaching problem labels to individuals.
There's a reason capitalist systems are really keen on handing out diagnoses.
@Paleva it can be wisdom that is old as fuck.
it’s simply a post that I seen online that I related to and wanted to share. many things can be true at once. thank you
@ashleyyrain So, so, so much this.
It's true that money can't buy happiness, but it can buy the absence of misery.
@ashleyyrain ”money doesnt bring happiness” means “the second million wont make you any happier or your life any better.
it does not mean a poor person should just be happy even tho they cant even eat enough and are facing variety of financial problems at the same time, while the ever looming threat of houselessness hangs above their depressed head.
