Security culture workshop: Staying Safe While Staying Open
Saturday March 28, 1pm
@ Black Oak (492 James N, Hamilton ON)

I want to plug this workshop I'm hosting on Saturday. Among people who dream of different worlds, security culture gets talked about a lot, but what does it really mean? And how do you keep yourself safe without closing yourself off from others?

Police repression is inevitable, and it is indeed pretty scary. But we can make good plans that let us feel confident. Fear can make us risk averse, so good security practices are necessary to feel brave. And the repeated use of infiltrators can leave us feeling suspicious of new people, but we can reframe those feelings and instead think about building trust.

This workshop is going to be pretty casual and based on storytelling. It will be loosely inspired by the zine Confidence Courage Connection Trust.

See you there maybe!
