Every click to substack is a fraction of a dollar into the pockets of the techbros who own it, and they DIRECTLY fund the ethnonazionalist, christofascist tRumpo regime.
Publishing in substack YEARS after the tehcbros who own it openly admitted using the revenue to affect politics in favor of fascism is basically endorsement of their actions.
I don’t completely disagree with the idea of starving techbros by avoiding clicks, but I also understand that sources outside of capitalist and fascist media (the 2 are linked) are few and far between. There are still good people and reliable sources who have to work within the structures controlled by the powers that be. And not everyone is joining the Fediverse like Mastodonians wish. Frankly, there are groups who don’t feel supported on this platform for valid reasons. So where do we go to get important information and mutual support if we forever stop clicking on Substack or Twitter sources that have earned our trust?

If you still can't see this, maybe you will never find any. Step out of the mental laziness and put EFFORT into something. That is how you know it's worth something.
Calling others lazy and meme scrollers is not a very civil. One of the reasons #socialmedia users are not flocking to Masto is that it seems like a silo stocked with smug, self-satisfied stalwarts who make empty appeals to self-evidence as if their hubris is enough to convince. I’ve been here for years and I know that this place is not the Xanadu true believers make it out to be. Absent any serious options offered to me I’ll continue to get information wherever I can. I don’t gratuitously link #Substack, but I will link on occasion if I find specific content mutually beneficial, just like I link stuff from #Mastodon elsewhere.

You cannot practice epistemic justice by preaching epistemic injustice.
If you want to put the lever at the right point, substack is not the issue. Stripe is.

Finding good sources in an internet aggressively swamped with bullshit is not "easy".
The argument to never click on substack etc is all very well and good and fair, but insults and condescension really don't help your case.
