As well as the obvious 'Google is a complete privacy nightmare and will do anything for a dollar', the whole distraction thing is insane. They can lock down certain things over the network, but there's still plenty of distraction to find. On top of that, handwriting? Who needs that?! Again, we sacrifice our kids education to line the pockets of US tech companies. #canpol
Constantly having to tell my kid to put the Chromebook away, to close it, to pay attention in class rather than staring into it.. to be present in the room. Those things are an absolute disaster for education. The government virtue signals by banning mobile phones in schools, yet continues to kit kids out with Chromebooks instead. The environmental impact of these things, the financial impact on schools, the damage to education and all the money flowing out to the US .. madness.
