Update to my #Introduction, as a #Thread, because I'm wordy πŸ˜‰β€‹

I was big several times on Twitter
#TwitterMigration 2022

Ex-sailor, I tried #Navy, didn't like it, quit after just 33 years.

Ran a Mobile #DJ Biz; Taxman took the fun away.

"I"ve been to both ends of #Halifax, have you?"

#Military Brat: attended more schools than years, incl.Germany.

2 #Cats, Rescue & Stray.
You'll notice that I have #ADHD.

Background: Management, Safety, Quality, Engineering, Computers, PERL, HTML

I'm a Twitter Escapee, having abandoned the platform because it's owned and influenced by a Nazi.

I was once big on Twitter and Google Plus, as my active #SocialMedia accounts.

Those *Influencer Accounts* got me perks and gifts over the years, but limited social engagement. You can Auto-LIKE, and Auto-SHARE, bots do it all the time. If you don't speak, I won't see you.

Some of my followers go back to G+ days, and I had big accounts then. It's not about how many followers you have, it's about the quality of the followers, good content and conversation attract me. Endless Politics, Self-only posts, and emoji replies are not of interest to me.

Lots of writing space here, but I'll break the stories down into shorter segments.

@Rasta Wow! I was only 3 going on 4 depending on the time of year!
@cub80_appleby
I'm your parents' age. LOL
I was in the Navy already
@Rasta Intresting! My late mom was 75 when she passed away on April 30th of 2020 and my late dad was 72 when he passed away on July 18th 2014!
@Rasta say Hi to all Newbies ... this a new place ?
@Lstn2urmama
There's danger of losing MSTDN so we were all being proactive and setting up shop elsewhere
@Rasta ok will deal with later am too tired right now need tummy to settle to sleep ..
@Rasta
And with a 5000 character limitation, the need for creating threads disappears most of the time!
@elliek I do hate it myself, when someone has a long book in each post. I can't read that much at one time without being distracted. LOL that's why I do audiobooks
@Rasta
I'm an audiobook person too! But you mentioned that you're a wordy person, so I was saying that here you can indulge.
I don't tend to myself and appreciate it when a verbose poster summarizes with a TLDR.
@Rasta ah ya them St. Laurent's/etc. are nice looking vessels, with those distinct bows and the swept back bridge.
@CowMan I served all my time on Steamers until I had a CERT IV (Charge Ticket) to be CERA and never got the position. I liked steamers because I grew up on them

@Rasta

Only 33 years?! Slacker.

@cynical13
I'm a quitter, what can I say? Tried it for a few years, found I didn't like it, so I retired early ;P

@Rasta

Much love and thank you for your service, good sir!

@cynical13 I'm third generation. My grandfather was the first to volunteer for WWI and later WWII, and my father went into the Army, so I went into the Navy. It's all I've known

@Rasta

My grandfather and cousin on my mother's side and an uncle on my father's side served. I didn't have the same calling, but I thought long and hard about it after high school before making my decision.

@cynical13
it's not for everyone. People think you heroic to serve a decade in peacetime. Sure, you give up things and have less freedom than others, but there's plenty of sacrifice outside the military
