The Dark Mod is NOT open source. The media files are under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 <https://svn.thedarkmod.com/publicsvn/darkmod_src/trunk/LICENSE.txt>. The -NC clause is in violation of rules 1 and 6 of the Open Source Definition <https://opensource.org/osd>.

You called it an ā€œopen source gameā€. This is false.

The media files (which are ESSENTIAL for games, especially this one) are proprietary. Itā€™s illegal to redistribute the game commercially as-is.

Thatā€™s against one of the CORE values of open source (and free software).

Please just fix your article. Thanks.

FACT: The Dark Mod is a proprietary game where only PARTS (i.e. the code) of it qualify as ā€œopen sourceā€, but NOT the whole game.
