All Russians are happy that Putin shut down the internet in Moscow and Saint Petersburg… at least that is the North Korean style messaging from Russian tv 1.

@[email protected] @[email protected] I think this is in Iran. That there are sim cards in different colors. A color allows free access to the Internet. The others don't. Probably it is in Russia exactly like that. Putin and his friends have free internet access. But not the people.

@Life_is @randahl Authoritarian regimes are always hotbeds of corruption. Not by choice, but the nature of the regime requires corruption as method of generating and rewarding loyalty.

There is a very interesting book by Frank Bajohr about the corruption in the Third Reich "Parvenüs und Profiteure". It is easy to recognize the similarities...
