@darnell as I understand it, because of the nature of the geography and the threat (small highly mobile drone launchers that can hit any ship in the Gulf from Iranian soil and are not vulnerable to air strikes), the only way to guarantee shipping won’t be hit is to actually invade and have troops occupying the entire Iranian shoreline.

This is not going to happen quickly, if at all.

I am not a military expert though. Other views welcome :)
