in other personal news…

i was pointed to a foundation that hand weaves wigs for kids with cancer. they are always in need of hair donations.

they accept gray, but need hair that's never been colored or heat-damaged. and they need a full 12" from your whole head. not many qualify.

i have plenty to spare. mine's about 18" long. and it (annoyingly!) grows 6" a year. so i'll have a very temporary crew cut.

help me out here. i need to work up some nerve for a big chop.

@isaiah The cause is so worthwhile, I'm sure you'll feel great in your crew cut as you imagine the lives you'll change.
@danielpunkass right!? i mean, someone mentioned it to me about a week ago and since then i just feel like i'm walking around with some kids hair on my head. like, what am i even waiting for?
@isaiah You can do this. I believe in you. It’s for a great cause.
@isaiah wow, what a resource. I'd barely be able to provide enough to make a bit of dust.
@isaiah It is a such a great way to support those kids! My sister donated once, years ago. It's totally worth it.
@isaiah I worked with someone who did this. A) you don’t have to go full crew cut
B) it’s very cool that you’re doing this!
@jackbrewster i’m usually pretty happy with short hair or hair long enough i can put up while im working. but im not a fan of the in-betweens.
@isaiah I’ve never had hair long enough for this (not even close), but I do know of another Apple developer that has done it a couple of times. In fact, you probably know of him, at least via Stack Overflow (he was one of the most prolific Cocoa/Appkit answerers back 10-15 years ago). It was a very positive experience for him.
