#3GoodThings #Pottery

1. My 42 ceramic buttons came out of the glaze kiln this morning. Several fellow potters marveled over them and started playing with them. They're VERY tactile. I'm so pleased with how they turned out. (photo attached)

2. My bowl, on the other hand, didn't turn out at all like I had expected. Maybe that's a good thing? (2 photos attached)

3. I'm tired of cooking, so my husband is out hunting for Greek carry out.

@nancylwayne Gorgeous! So many possibilities for those buttons
@SCampbell Thank you! They mostly go to knitters and crafts people.
@nancylwayne I like the bowl!
@darwinwoodka Aww, thanks so much. I'm liking it the more I sit with it and see that other people like it.
@nancylwayne Those buttons are great fun, and the bowl looks both organic and elegant.
@kerravonsen Thank you! I'm feeling better about the bowl due to people like you seeing something of merit in it. It will come to me in time.

@nancylwayne I think it's the unexpectedness which becomes disappointment in not getting what you wanted/expected, that makes it hard to be happy about one's artistic surprises. It's hard to let go the vision that one had for a particular piece, and stop and see what you actually have, and the merits of what exists.

As someone who does Acrylic Pouring, with its unpredictableness, this is a lesson I've had to learn very fast!

@kerravonsen Thanks — great perspective!
@nancylwayne Spectacular buttons, and I think you are letting your expectations get in the way of appreciating the lovely bowl.
@LyndaDelph Thank you! And you're right about the bowl. I have to sit with these "not what I had in mind" pots for a while before I see their loveliness.
@nancylwayne The bowl is breathtaking and I will give you the moon Phobos for it.
@Gustodon Thank you!! Your shipping and handling would be much more challenging than mine.
