To comply with Google, all Fediverse instance owners need to pay Google and have they user accounts managed by the Play Store.

Non-Google approved accounts are NOT allowed on your own instance(s) unless you wait 24 hours and watch our non-skippable scare tactic warnings.

@catsalad Why would instance owners need to do that? Doesn't all this only concern developers? (which is bad enough)

@marco

I guess (at 75%) that catsalad is joking...

@catsalad

@catsalad But I thought all instances had to integrate Microsoft Co-pilot?
@catsalad At least I don't have to watch 1 hour of unskippable ads...
@catsalad Sorry, I do not see the point… Thks in advance
@catsalad don't scare people!
@catsalad ok, how about instead, all new accounts have to be approved by Googly Cat!?!?!?!
@catsalad

Let me guess, deadline is 1st of next month?
@MxAlba Of course. That's the beginning of Q2!

@catsalad

All fedi clients must implement Google play integrity.

@catsalad Every fedi post you make requires ID verification too, to ensure you are not a scammer.

@catsalad

What is the case, if you getbthe Fediverse App from F-Droid and totally degoogled your phone. Or whats, if you use the Fediverse in a Browser both mobile and Desktop? Am I incapable of Login, because I don't have and don't want a Google Account?
