#Fediblock @panache

Reasons

  • Conflating criticism of Israel with #antisemitism

  • Account specifically created a few days ago with the purpose of targeting/rage-bating me and @aral (like the other copycat accounts)

  • Exact same patterns as the other accounts (anonymous accounts, no interactions with the people in the thread, only sharing memes published by the same propaganda page, no activities on their profiles other than semi-automated replies against a few specific targets, preference for German instances)

  • The other copycat accounts have also been suspended by most of the instances on the Fediverse, but new accounts that exhibit the same behaviour keep popping up every couple of days

  • This post that targets us for anti-Zionism has been published under a Fediblock call by Aral against a literal antisemitic profile. Yet these profiles don’t seem to show much interest towards truly racist and antisemitic content. They only harass those who support #Gaza.

@fabio @panache @aral I noticed that some new accounts have been adding most of the participants in the Gaza Documentation Initiative. Personally, this behavior surprised me, but it wasn’t necessarily against the rules—so that’s how I convinced myself! I didn’t block these accounts, as I was aware that if multiple users did so, it could lead to side effects, such as blocking small servers or limiting access for legitimate users. Nonetheless, the behavior remains somewhat suspicious.

@nada_eid_88 @aral some of these accounts in the past also reported members of gaza-verified for antisemitism, and some mocked them.

But lately they mostly target me and Aral with propaganda memes.

If any of them interacts with you don’t engage. You can block them and report them to their instance (they usually get suspended fast when reported); if you block a single account it won’t affect other accounts on the same instance. And report them to me and Aral, we can inform other admins.

@fabio @aral Thank you for the clarification. Usually, I don’t interact or comment except on posts whose owners are known here, because some topics catch my attention and I research them as a way of gaining knowledge. I’ve benefited a lot from Mastodon in this regard.
As for these accounts, they used to make me feel uneasy and tense, and I just noticed that many of them have been suspended when I checked my list. Thank you for keeping track.🙏😊
