Debian is so great. Just upgraded my NAS box from bullseye through bookworm to trixie.

I set aside the afternoon but it only took an hour, including carefully reading the upgrade instructions in the release notes. The upgrade process for both releases worked exactly as documented with minimal downtime (just the time needed to reboot). And I did it all over SSH.

The boring reliability, and lack of surprises is why I love Debian. Thank you Debian developers!

@smlx If possible please do share some details of your NAS. Is it a Western Digital EX2 or Cloud or something else? Or did you build it on your own using a micro/mini ATX board?

@Archie1 Good question. My NAS box is a repurposed workstation with a SATA controller PCIe card for more drive ports. It runs the storage drives in a btrfs pool made up of seven drives of various brands/ages/sizes mostly scavenged from other old machines.
