@apc So I recently started reading the manga for Akebi’s Sailor Uniform. I’m at the part where Komichi invites Erika to spend time with her and they decide to go fishing. Erika arrives early and is checking of all things, a watch. It’s there in the remaining fishing and playing in the water scenes, but very subtle. So I check out the related anime episode since I don’t remember anything about a watch. Of course it’s there with more detail and continues to be through the remaining scenes. Cloverworks just nails it!

@Tatsumeg Yeah, the #manga is amazing, and the #anime takes what was already some of the best drawings and layouts I've seen and just runs away with them. Cloverworks animated the heck out of everything they could, and even the parts they couldn't were done in stunningly beautiful stills.

I feel the anime is unappreciated not so much because not enough watched it, but because it is a total triumph of art, animation, color, sound, and story.

Great pick. I'd forgotten about that watch! :)

@Ragashingo For sure! It feels like I notice something new every time I revisit the anime. Now if they would do a second season…
