@aroundthehills I tell you what - it was pretty hairy towards the end where the half marathon route overlapped again. I nearly got knocked over a couple of times by very fast runners powering to the finish. A bit soul destroying when you know they’ve done over 13 miles! Did you power past all the shufflers when you did yours? 😄

My "powering to the finish" was hearing the music and drums, out of sight, as I approached the finish and telling myself it was now time to pretend to be a runner for the next 500 metres!
There were some finishers behind me but we were nicely spaced out (physically and mentally! 🤪) by then, so nobody spoiled my finish line photo. 😄📸
@aroundthehills 😅 I’d intended to save some energy for a sprint finish but the run in was a bit convoluted so I didn’t dare ‘peak’ too soon and almost left it too late. Did manage a few minutes though..
