@ai6yr Wine grapes typically hit bud burst when the average air temperature reaches 60 degrees. It varies a lot by variety. We have a table grape the starts to leaf out in February. The Viognier woke up around the first of March which is a week or two early for us compared to average. Others were 7 to 10 days behind it.
@CavedaleRhones It's been a challenge getting grapes to grow on the hill here... last year I lost most of the rooted plants, despite watering it, etc. Not sure if it was just TOO hot or the soil. This year, the plants that are surviving are the ones where I mixed a lot of compost into the soil and/or potting mix/etc., and they all just started putting out leaves/shoots the last three days. It's a pretty brutal hill however (sandy and rock underneath!!).
