It's easy to make fun of people under 25 for making thrifting and gardening/farming and foraging into pop trends, but to paraphrase my niece:

"older clothes fit better, feel nicer, look cooler, are cheaper, and cost less.

"You can alter them, you can decorate them, you can get clout for finding extremely cool shit

"My friends and I don't understand why anyone would buy new clothes. Fast fashion is destroying the world, and everything it makes sucks."

So there. The kids are alright.

@johnzajac This is true of just about everything that does not have external network dependencies.

Old cars are more fixable and don't have tracking devices. Old refrigerators are easy to fix. Old washers and dryers are simple and mechanical.

Quality has got so bad that it's worth keeping old stuff wherever and whenever you can.

Light bulbs, batteries, and television sets have got better.
