I binge-watched Sanda yesterday ( it's on Prime Videohttps://amzn.to/47euS8q).

I really enjoyed it! Despite the silly premise, it has some pretty good messages that are somehow not ruined despite them being literally shouted by Santa Clause himself at times. Fun, moderately twisty tale of youth/growing up, fits just enough fun fights in there. Pretty solid all-around, I am a sucker for something with a silly premise that manages to deliver on good messaging too.

Me and some other nerds would have been huge into both it and the art style as edgy ~14-year-olds. Still enjoyed it as an edgy 35-year-old.

Something I have noticed from watching a good amount of Anime recently, if you get most of the stupid parts of your work's premise out in the very first episode/whatever, it gets pretty easy to tolerate thereafter.

You forget how preposterous the setup is by the time the first episode is done, they do a good job of speedrunning the "look he turns into actual santa" stuff so they can focus on the surprisingly critical look at Japanese expectations of youth. ...and Santa.
