@Lea_loves_books Oddly, Germans often get English more correct than native speakers so don't worry about that eh? Welcome aboard!
@Dianora wait what thatโ€™s crazy!
Thank you!
@Lea_loves_books Hey aside from (the crazy to us Anglos) word order of German English is still at heart a Germanic language. ๐Ÿ˜€
@Dianora true lol, word order is sometimes very different
It comes on handy when learning French to speak both so I can easily understand some words because they are similar to German/english
@Lea_loves_books Yes I found it interesting Germans use Fenster (French/Latin) instead of Window (from Old Norse vindauga ). Still some cognates between German and English, if you ignore the words changed by the French invaders. ๐Ÿ˜€
@Lea_loves_books Welcome! Happy to see some younger ones around. (Not myself, I just noticed there are lots of people my generation and sometimes upwards and very few young people active in the Fediverse but I love learning from different perspectives from different generations.)
