I’m still irrationally angry at the last episode of #foundation s3. It’s such a frustrating series overall, but when it’s good it’s really good, and so far I’ve been willing to forgive its flaws. BUT…

(spoiler alert!)

Day sneaking back into the palace unaided and TOTALLY UNSEEN is beyond belief, given how difficult it was for him to leave. And the less said about the UTTERLY PREPOSTEROUS orbital skydiving scene the better. Is this the same show that had a (comparatively sane) airlock scene not three episodes ago? Did they rewrite the last episode on set while high on meth? WTF. 🤬

#jumptheshark #foundation

BTW if you don’t know the #foundation books, you’ll be offended by the plot twist in s3e10, because it’s full of more holes than a fishing net. If you *do* know the books you’ll also be offended because it’s not the twist you’re expecting. I expect that it’s a fakeout and the canonical twist will eventually emerge in s4. The whole scene was still badly handled though, and I still hate it.

@andrewg The Mule identity one?
@ianRobinson yeah, that one. The twist makes no sense at all, given who was in what places at what times during the series. Do you know the book twist?
@andrewg I can’t remember it. I read it ages ago.
@ianRobinson ok, well I won’t spoil it (you can look it up on wikipedia if you really want to know) but it makes a lot more sense, and the producers obviously know that, so I’m 100% expecting it to eventually happen…
@andrewg I got Gemini to remind me. Magnifico. I actually thought he was the Mule when watching the adaptation.
@ianRobinson yeah, so why introduce the character if you aren’t going to follow through? 😜
@andrewg show is an absolute hatewatch for me. It’s so fucking dumb so much of the time.
@allancavanagh I was *so excited* about this show. I had no concept of game of thrones before the tv show came out, but my anticipation for foundation was of the same order that game of thrones fans had when that show was announced. And it had *so much* potential. It was a gorgeous show. But it fell into so many scriptwriting traps on the way.
@allancavanagh I totally hear you about hatewatching. Ncuti gatwa era doctor who has a similar effect on me. I *want* to love it. But.
@andrewg oooh I made it to the babies on the spaceship and that was me done.
@allancavanagh yeah that was baaaaad 💀
@andrewg the Tennant episodes and Beatles episode were good, great scary concepts (up until the musical number in the Beatles one). A shame, I thought Ncuti Gatwa was great for the bit I saw.
@allancavanagh I couldn’t finish watching the beatles ep. Cringe.
