The word "gubernatorial" as in "gubernatorial election" (election of a governor) cracks me up. Because I always hear it as "goobernatorial" as in the governor is a goober.

Can we just swap the word "governor" for "goober" generally? Please? Just for fun?

"The Board of Goobers"
"The Goober's Office"

Why not? Can't we have fun?

@futurebird Yes! And fun fact: Jimmy Carter farmed goobers while he was Goober of Georgia.

@futurebird

"This engine has a goober on it."

@futurebird here in Russia we sometimes call governors exactly so.
@EnigmaVoice @futurebird I only opened this thread to leave this exact comment
@futurebird then I also want "mare pete"
@futurebird They could then be sponsored by Goobers Peas
@futurebird Arnold Schwarzenegger, formerly The Goobernator.
@futurebird Goober sounds like a Fraggle name.
@futurebird Constituents just wanna have fun
@futurebird accurate, in most states
@futurebird i learned this word from Monkey Island and always associate it with that game.

@futurebird

A gubernatorial election made Schwarzenegger the Gubernator

@futurebird Not only that, there’s (or should be) “bugernatorial.”
@futurebird a double of “cyber”. So totally valid to speak of, say, a goobersecurity expert.
@futurebird It sounds like a four year old made the word up.
