@DemLabs Perhaps, Trump could learn from the Normandy beach landings in WW2 before he sends in 5,000 US marines, on what will be a suicide mission, to secure Kharg island.

Kharg Island's geography is roughly equivalent to Normandy, but Normandy required 30 times the amount of troops.

US sending ground troops will necessitate conscription of Americans.

@Rastal @DemLabs jokes aside, not even the Roman empire was able to invade (let alone subdue) Persian empire(s). They'd change hands internally but never an external power was able to invade and hold the land (except for arab Muslims in 650s AD, but that's another story)
