@DoomsdaysCW Neoliberal ideology still drives government whether the party in control is leftish or rightish. The left has lost its courage to reinstate all the social good that has been cancelled in the name of budget balancing.

Keynesian economics is gradually opening people eyes - budget surpluses kill economies and social good, not budget deficits. Maggie Thatcher was wrong - the national accounts are not a household budget.
