To be clear, my point is burger buns make the burger, not the type, shape, or processing method of the contents.

(as in, a beef burger patty on a baguette or sliced bread is NOT a burger; a chicken breast or fish fillet IS a burger. 😎)

For example, a living creature between two burger buns is not a burger, they are dressed up as a burger, even if they are technically edible.

@Yuriel IMO a burger has to have ground meat/meat substitute, so a fish or chicken patty doesn't count as it's not ground up
