I lent on my keyboard and now my mouse is moving slowly. I turned up the cursor speed to full speed in the gnome settings but it's still sluggish.

Just what the hell did I press on my keyboard?

@doctormo huh, I assume your keyboard doesn't have button to change mouse dpi?

@doctormo

Sounds like the keyboard contacts are damaged.

Can you try another keyboard?

@doctormo

[System] [d] [Break]

@doctormo

Is the mouse movement / responsiveness also jerky? If so, it might be that one or more keys are stuck on the keyboard.

@cazabon no it's smooth, just slow.

@doctormo

Okay, that eliminates one cause. Only other suggestion I'd have is that it's actually the mouse - many have switchable DPI, for gamers who want to move fast and then switch to fine control for aiming. My trackball has this, and one of its extra buttons switches between high- and low-DPI modes.

Maybe check the manual / FAQ for whatever mouse it is?

@cazabon

You were absolutely right!!

HyperX PulseFire has a tiny button on the mouse which cycles between 5 speed modes.

Thank you!!
