Can anybody recommend a cat feeding bowl that slows down fast eaters? Available in the UK and not from Amazon please. Please only suggest only those you have actually tried and had success with.

@Kimberley Our two have one of these each:
https://www.surepetcare.com/en-gb/pet-feeder/microchip-pet-feeder

They certainly slow our two down (YMMV). There's a definite decrease in the frequency of 'walk-by snacking' due to having to stick their heads near enough to their own feeder, for their 'chip to be detected, before the lid mech raises up. Cat's use 'em without problems. No Amazon necessary 😸😸

The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder from Sure Petcare

A cat feeder that will only open for the right cat’s microchip to stop other pets stealing their food. Stop pets overeating and keep prescription food separate.

@UrbanDjent thanks, that would also stop the greedy one from stealing the slow eater’s food too!
@Kimberley We've found that both cats now get their own, complete, share of food. It's also really great for their differing dietary needs too.
@Kimberley @UrbanDjent we have these too. They are an excellent idea for multi cat houses
@Darkedge @Kimberley @UrbanDjent We have three of these for our cats. I will warn you, these are by default open in the back and any motivated cat will quickly figure out that they can steal from the others from the back. This company sells plastic shields for the back that SHOULD be included but add like $30 to each device. They are very expensive but they work. I’ve further modified ours to narrow the opening to block wayward paws.
@Kimberley I currently feed Toulouse out if this one: https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_bowls_feeders/plastic/slow_feed_cat_bowls/1983244?activeVariant=1983244.0 as it works for both dry and wet food. He's a very fast eater with a classic bowl.
I used to feed Alfred out of this one for years: https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_toys/miscellaneous/treat_toys/349323?activeVariant=349323.0. He loved it until he decided he never wanted to use it again one day (probably for reasons unrelated to the feeder).
I also quite like this one https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_toys/miscellaneous/treat_toys/113182?activeVariant=113182.0, the downside being that it rolls under things, but it is very good at slowing cats down.

We started to use them 4 years ago.
Easy to clean, easy to eat from, enough space for the whiskers, works with dry and wet food.

@astielau I like that it’s ceramic and not plastic, thanks!

@Kimberley I have one of these for 3 cats.

I used to have to clean up vomit every day. Now it's very rare. Only works for kibble though.

@Kimberley I have a feeder you can set to dispense up to 6 times a day, so you could space those out, if that would help?
@emd I have 3 cats so it’s hard to manage with a timed dispenser as the greedy one will take too much. Unless they’re microchip activated and timed
@Kimberley no idea about where to get stuff in the UK but this shape has really been doing the trick for my food-motivated semi-feral tabby. i got it at kmart. https://www.kmart.com/xaqmhsw-slow-feeder-dog-bowls-puzzle-silicone-dog-feeding-bowls-with-suction-cups-anti-choking-non-slip-design/p-A130343558
@Kimberley we have one of three that frequently eats too fast causing them to get sick and waste their whole meal. We were unsuccessful with puzzles. We finally divided their meal in half and don’t give them the second half for two hours. Not everyone has the luxury of doing this (we’re retired). The bowls that only open for their chip have helped a lot as it ensures each cat gets their share. I replied to another person below with caveats about those bowls.
@moelassus that’s useful to know, thank you.
