🇬🇧🛤️ Laura Shoaf and Tony Poulter have been appointed non-executive directors to the Department for Transport Operator (DFTO) board, marking the next phase in establishing Great #British #Railways (GBR). Their appointments signal the transition from Shadow GBR as preparations continue for the new body’s launch in 2027.
Shoaf, who chaired Shadow GBR, has helped shape closer collaboration across the rail sector, including integrating track and train operations in parts of #England. Poulter brings commercial and passenger-focused experience, including advisory work on rail reform.
Ministers say the changes will support efforts to reduce fragmentation, cut waste and improve services. Recent measures include wider ticket acceptance during disruption and digital ticketing trials. More than 8,500 daily services now run under public ownership, with further operators set to join as reforms progress.
