SF did a test install of a neckdown on Kirkham at 9th. It worked great, just like a bunch of similar installations in the Presidio. Unfortunately a bunch of whiny babies cried about it and the city removed it. The replacement went in today - a speed hump.
@jef they made the space between the islands too large and the curbs too low, poles too thin. Whoever was responsible for replacing it with a speed [suggestion] hump has no place in the leadership of a city.
@enobacon @jef yeah I really hate this design of speed hump - it's training drivers to swerve into bike lane to go through divots

@jef Kirkham street is a bunch of entitled douches. They complained loud enough to get their slow street removed, too. I argued that if Kirkham doesnt want it then Judah should get it.

Makes more sense in the avenues along the N. Remove Kirkham’s bike lanes and let them suck car fumes. Shut down cars on Judah so families can get off the train without getting killed.

@jef drivers always whine about effective traffic calming measures because they don't want to be forced to slow down
@jef dang didn’t know the neck down existed there - are there any photos of that?
