Just voted early in the #SA
elections, thinking it would be quieter.

But no, a total circus. Running the gauntlet of what looked like a dozen parties, most unheard of, with the Libs acting as guardians of the threshold into the hall.

I suppressed my usual desire to shout abuse at One Nation and passed quietly through.

Trouble is, there is only one party you can put last.

No #democracysausage available, either, despite the crowds.

@mativity my mate verballed the one nation candidate and they complained to the aec about him and he told them to fuck off
@mativity I hate the gathering of the spruikers for the parties.. THe amount of useless paper spent on elections is just insane..

@stufromoz yep, just inundated this election, even getting door to door visits, never mind the postbox.

If only they spent the money on something useful.

@mativity @stufromoz It's been a nice change not to have every road lined with corflutes. What did those airbrushed faces really achieve?

@mativity

Never ever seen a 'democracy sausage' at any voting place I've attended ... usually schools in Western Vic ...

Do see Parent's Club Cake Stalls though ... much tastier than a supermarket sausage :)

@MyView oh, I usually see them but i usually go to schools and yes, also cakes. When i was living in Canberra, there was usually a big spread, too. Not in Sydney tho.

@mativity

Had same problem with the most recent election here in NSW. The pre-poll site was utter bedlam. I'll be voting in the much shorter voting day queue this time, I guess.

@mativity

This is the problem: β€œTrouble is, there is only one party you can put last.” ☹️

@mativity I hate it when you get hassled to vote for a certain party. Really puts me off on voting for them.
@mativity Similar experience a couple of years ago. I thought there would be less covid risk but they kept us all jammed in a narrow hallway waiting for our turn. Less risk voting at the big, airy school gym. ( plus sausages, of course).
