This orchid is around 8 years old and every year it blooms bigger than the previous. It’s been like this for a month, at least. It’s out of control. I think it might be plotting global domination.

@tayfonay Did you name this orchid Audrey II by any chance?

@tayfonay

I, for one, welcome our new pink overlords.

It will probably do a better job than the current gang of goons…

@tayfonay Did it double in size every year? Then you do indeed have a problem. If it just grew from a little plant to a medium-sized plant in eight years, it may take it so long to achieve global domination that you and it will have died of old age.
@irina It's growing relatively slowly. Whew.
@tayfonay @trending couldn't possibly be worse than what's dominating the globe presently - I say have at it!
@tayfonay Wow wow wow. Obviously you don’t adhere to “ it just takes an ice cube a week” theory and leave it at that.
@bookworks I really don't do much with it, other than watering a few times a week and misting it periodically. I did upgrade its pot a few years ago because it got so damn big. I think I need to do that again. once it drops these blooms.
@tayfonay I’m tempted to buy and try one again. Thanks for the motivation!

@tayfonay

At least it's a pretty type of domination.

@tayfonay I don't even... Every Orchid I've had has struggled to flower annually.
@thomaschristopherking I think it’s in a perfect, magic corner for sun (south and west facing light)

@tayfonay

I, for one, welcome our exotic tropical flower overlords

@tayfonay

It has happy lighting.

@tayfonay wow! How you keep it alive after one bloom season? My store bought ones give up on me once the flowers leave the plants
@tayfonay Yes, that's what orchids do if they manage to escape.
