@griega17 Imagine if the govt could oblige them to rename themselves 'Thames water and sewage'. Might just affect uptake.

But there again, they have a monopoly. Same as electricity and gas 'supply' companies merely operate on behalf of the company that does the actual delivery.

@griega17 Thanks. All too often, sadly, those in power and wealth get there by losing all concerns for fellow humans. Or the environment.

Few humans handle power well. In my local tennis club not one but two members of the board told me that my membership meant nothing (in a heavy tone) as most revenue is from coaching.

Was tempted to broadcast that message to all the other club members.

I love elegant prose.

I love to try to be a caring person. I give away things I have made in eth crafts and books I have written.

Yet most just take - even very very nice people. Much as with caring, reciprocation in society seems to be precariously atrophied ...

@griega17 So we must work around this and occasionally challenge bad habits. One fellow today barged thru a shop door I was leaving thru ... but his friend waited. We chatted - he was a warm connector. I praised his patience and you could see he heeded what I said. There are pockets of great humanity.

And there are movements to start to undo the effect of online spoilt culture.
