@FreakyFwoof I’m really, really picky about my piano actions. If it’s smooth and buttery, and if it allows me to do trills like there’s no tomorrow, I love it. If it’s too stiff and sluggish I’m not here for it.
@jdking92 I played a Yamaha C3 once, friggin hell what an amazing action. Beautiful! Same with a Yamaha U3 Upright which had no damn right to be as nice as it was.
@FreakyFwoof I’ve played a few Yamahas before and liked them, particularly the c7 semi concert grand and cox concert grand. Amazing tone and action on both those instruments. Would love to own one.
@kevinrj@FreakyFwoof Right, but the fortepiano is a different instrument to the modern piano. Also, if the action is *too* light, it can no doubt cause it’s own issues.
@jdking92@FreakyFwoof All true. Though I haven’t yet played a piano where the action is too light. There aren’t any pianoforte knock-offs around though. :)
@kevinrj@FreakyFwoof I’ve played a few uprights with actions that were incredibly light, though that was mainly because they hadn’t been properly regulated in a good while. I’ve also played instruments with very, very sluggish or unresponsive actions. Not recommended for an enjoyable experience.
@FreakyFwoof Wonderful sound! And your excitement is just fun to hear too. I’ve been like that myself when getting to try out some amazing instruments, but I don’t think any were near what that piano costs.
@FreakyFwoof Sounds good. By the time that happens we might have a whole itinerary sorted out. That piano shop and your favourite Indian place are on the list so far.
@FreakyFwoof Damn, that thing is gorgeous and I want one. I, however, as a synth player/mess around with more than anything, not a pianist, am not worthy of such things.
@FreakyFwoof If I sold everything I ever owned in my life, including all the stuff I can't get to and don't have anymore, I might be able to make a small down payment on one, on top of emptying my savings and blowing my credit. LOL!
@vick21 I play in every key. If you listen to some of the files I put out when I'm just doodling or playing live, you'll hear a lot of that. Every key has it's joys.
