I'm just a 40-something guy from New York City, born and raised in North Carolina.
Blind, #ActuallyAutistic, atheist, going deaf. Chronically depressed. AI luddite. Amateur radio operator, audio editor/sound engineer (as hearing dictates,) pretend to be a musician sometimes.
My amateur radio only account lives at @N2DYI.
Pro-choice, leftist, etc.
I do not apologize for anything I am here.

"Let's put ads in our paid professional digital audio workstation software" was apparently a thing someone at Apple said 'yes' to, after saying 'no' to a thousand other things 🙃
Remember, folks: you need to treat #AI like a user when dealing with its output. That means sanitize it, escape it, and so-on. Anyway, apparently a tool I'm using will just render AI generated HTML, and now I have an entire hallucinated user interface reconstructed from the screenshot I was asking about, rather than an answer to the question I was asking. I especially appreciate the unchecked checkbox it labeled "checked checkbox". What new kind of dark pattern is "checked checkbox unchecked"?

Really bad headache last night. Took excedrin, which is about the only OTC thing that still works for me. Excedrin has caffeine in it. Not so good for sleeping, thus, I didn't.

IT's wearing off, and I'm tired, having basically been awake for 1.5 days. Also, headache returns in full force.

Who wins?

I'm about 17 years late, but I recently watched all of "Breaking Bad."
My takeaway is that, no matter how many burner phones you have, no matter how many you destroy by breaking them in half, you can always be called. Everyone just magically knows your number when it changes.

OH BOY!
I've been preapproved for the Sweetwater card.

1. It's a good thing I don't have an environment conducive to actually doing much in the way of music and audio production right now, or I'd probably consider it. I have no room for studio gear, and 99.999% of my stuff is in storage indefinitely, so that's one less thing I have to think about.

2. I definitely don't need/want another credit card at this point. My credit is good, mostly from a time when I had more income, and I want to keep it that way.

Funny thing is, I have only ever purchased one thing from Sweetwater in my life, despite having a sales rep there for probably 15 years, because I have been given things purchased by others from them in the past. The one thing I bought from them is, far as I know, only sold by them in this country, so I didn't have much choice.

Today's dumb thing:

My old Dell Latitude E7240, which I now use as a bed-side computer again, is fully capable of downloading and uploading at Gigabit speeds on my network. iPerf3 is happily sending and receiving at around 941 mbps, as it should. SMB transfers are the same.

Internet speed tests, however, are only around 500 to 600 mbps in either direction.

The same speedtest.net servers on other machines, including a Raspberry Pi 4, are around 930 mbps symmetric, which is what I expect to see.

It almost doesn't matter, since most of the time, I'm basically using this laptop as a glorified NVDARemote, but it's a thing anyway.

Hi there. How's it going? I'm feeling absolutely miserable today. Physically and emotionally drained, constantly thinking about crap that is far beyond my control, not having enough control over the things I should, theoretically. Don't ya love these depression spiral thingies?

Anyway, tomorrow's another day, I guess.

82 degrees F (about 28 degrees C) at nearly 10:00 PM. Can we not? This is not a standard thing here.
