Just cos it came up elsewhere - if you want to use my art for other stuff, you don’t have to ask - just go futz with it, build on it, tear it down. Have fun.

Not speaking for any other artist - just me. Be free little pixels and words and shit.

If this guy can use a photo I took then you can too.
@NanoRaptor he for real did that? :o
Powerbook 100

@NanoRaptor wild!

Surely they have their own archive???

@Tijn I can see it. The photos in their own archive would have been taken in the house style contemporary to that model, @NanoRaptor's was more modern-Apple looking. They'd have had to dig an actual example out of the museum and take a fresh photo to make it fit the presentation as well
@Nentuaby And Jobs was famously not one for nostalgia.

@ehurtley @Nentuaby

good chance the person making the slides was handed a template and a basic outline and probably had no idea that their media archivist even existed or what their name was, so google image search it was

@ehurtley @Nentuaby

raise your hand if you've ever needed to do some design work for a company that incorporates their logo and they send their logo over and it's a low resolution JPEG

@gloriouscow @ehurtley @Nentuaby I once asked a sponsor for artwork to make a online movie advert. They *faxed* me their yellow pages entry. I made the ad and it’s one I’m quite proud of.

@allypally @gloriouscow @ehurtley @Nentuaby EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE.

*customer sends low res png if their logo*

Can’t get good version. Doesn’t exist online. We agree to remake for $fee.

They send their acceptance of our quote on a pdf letterhead.

Letterhead pdf has 100% vector logo embedded in it, as outlines, correct spots.

@NanoRaptor @allypally @gloriouscow @ehurtley @Nentuaby Hey, they sent it before you made the logo, right? Just charge them the agreed-for fee for extracting the logo from PDF.

@NanoRaptor @allypally @gloriouscow @ehurtley @Nentuaby

I have on multiple occasions been faxed technical drawings at the lowest possible image quality, and told to "clean it up in Photoshop." When I explain that the received fax is of potato quality, I am told, "It looks fine on our end."

@Tijn I think they probably didn't have any images AS GOOD, because earlier Apple didn't anticipate wanting pro-level images like that. Some were done for ads, but those images were likely owned by those agencies, not by Apple. Stealing some rando's pic was easier than asking, and cheaper than paying some agency.
@Tijn @NanoRaptor No, they did not by this time. They dumped it all on Stanford as a collection and fired the librarians and marketing competitive analysis teams around 1997-8.
@NanoRaptor @Tijn Damn, too bad it wasn't one of your edits 😂
@sindarina @Tijn technically it is! The original pic had no battery cover and some other missing bits. Including the rear twist feet missing

@NanoRaptor @Tijn

Microraptor? You've lost a lot of weight since then!

@NanoRaptor Waaaat it was a pic of yours? That's so cool!
@NanoRaptor I appreciate "PowerBooks 100"
@NanoRaptor 😂 In 2010 you were all about 1991. Awesome.
@NanoRaptor pfff, who is this guy anyway? He looks like a nerd who created his business in his garage...
@NanoRaptor I believe that is a PowerBook 100, which peculiarly is a PowerBook *not* designed by Apple! (Sony)

@NanoRaptor I don't know if I said thank you, but your art is on our wall. I think only one person has understood the reference so far.

@djm62 ahhh that’s what I love. Seeing things jump up and surprise me with joy :D
@NanoRaptor "Be free little shit." /giggles

@NanoRaptor

I would hope people would credit you for your generosity.

@the5thColumnist on the other hand if they don’t I’ll come across little seeds planted somewhere online a decade later and go “oh look at that!”
@NanoRaptor
Your reward will be in heaven, Nanoraptor.
Thank YOU for your service.
@NanoRaptor Dana Public License 1.0: share-alike
@NanoRaptor thank you for making them, they are a wonderful gift 💙
@NanoRaptor this is from a while back
@NanoRaptor (note the video player isn't playing the music, that was streamed into the world by my friend)

@robot I'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT IMAGE TOO!.

This is grand :D

@NanoRaptor out of curiosity, if some of them did bring particular joy, and I wanted to show my appreciation, can I pay in some way? Or is there something important to you I can contribute to somehow? That pascal poster was an absolute work of art.
